The Sony DAVIS10 features Sony’s DCAC (Digital Cinema Auto Calibration). This is an intelligent technology that allows you to setup your home theatre system with the minimum of fuss. No matter what size or shape your room is DCAC will eliminate any guesswork when you position your speakers. The DAV IS10 will setup itself for optimum surround sound performance for both movies and music. This feature uses a microphone and a set of test-tones to accurately measure the position and distance of speakers, volume and frequency etc. It can even compensate for the acoustic characteristics of your room.
HDMI Video Upscaling to High Definition
The Sony DAV IS10 features a built-in upscaler and will generates a 720p or 1080i signal via HDMI. This offers superior picture quality on your high-def TV over a standard non-upscaling DVD player.. HDMI is an acronym for High-Definition Multimedia Interface. This type of connection is very similar to DVI but uses much smaller connectors.
